What is Lotus?

Lotus is a network of medical clinics designed to optimize the doctor's practice affiliated with the Canadian government health insurance plan. We combine best-in-class design principles and cutting-edge technologies in order to deliver doctors an all-inclusive clinical environment so that they can deliver their best care.

Is Lotus a public or a private clinic solution?

Lotus is 100% affiliated with the Canadian government health insurance plan.

What is the rate to be part of the Lotus network?

We offer one all-inclusive, competitive rate based on the city and province that you are located in. No hidden fees or upgrades.

What is included in your competitive rate?

Every practitioner has full access to all features and materials on site (including telehealth) with one competitive rate.

This includes:

The clinic space
Full access to all the facilities, complimentary parking, and unlimited snacks and beverages to keep you fuelled throughout your shift.

Administrative work
Full access to our EMR, LotusOS, billing*, task and teachings features as well as our lab management and service corridor.

Equipment
Full use of all medical supplies, medical fixtures, scrubs, and PPE gear.

Practice Management
We help you manage your needs in order to customize your practice. You choose your shift dates and timeframes.

Operations
We take care of staff hiring, training and scheduling, cleaning and maintenance.

Electronics
All electronics are supplied.

*billing service is included for our full-time doctors only.

Is parking available?

We offer complimentary interior parking space within the building. Full-time or part-time, doctors never have to think about where to park.

How will I be protected against COVID19?

Your safety is our top priority. We’ve thoughtfully designed our clinics to protect you from the recent COVID crisis. 

Our clinics do not have waiting rooms: patients wait directly in their exam room and do not move until they are discharged.The layout of our facilities separate the staff corridors from the patient corridors, meaning you will never encounter patients when moving from room to room.Our ventilation system complies with INSPQ’s most recent guidelines and uses UV sterilization to eliminate 99.98% of viruses and bacteria circulating into the clinic airflow.

What type of clinics do you open and operate?

Pediatric, family medicine, minor emergencies.

Your practice at Lotus

Can I build my practice the way that I want to?

At Lotus, you make your own practice. We’re here to make sure you have everything you need to do it.

Are doctors required to do a minimum amount of shifts?

There is no minimum number of shifts per month required in order to be part of the Lotus network. 

Work when it’s convenient for you. We believe that you should have final say on when you work, whether it’s during the day or the evening, during the week or on weekends.

What kind of consultations can I do?

Our clinics are equipped to offer both walk-in consultations, as well as traditional, long-term follow-ups for patients as well as minor surgeries.

What kind of technical acts can I perform?

We are fully equipped to enable you to do a wide variety of technical acts, such as stitches, wound care, and much more. We are equipped with specialized observation rooms allowing you to diagnose and follow-up with pervasive development disorder patients in a safe and efficient environment.

Can I work remotely or do telemedicine?

Doctors can work remotely and do telemedicine on the same basis as if they were on-site at the clinic.

How do patients schedule an appointment?

Patients can schedule their own appointments online and receive reminders on their phone, minimizing no-shows.

How do I migrate my practice?

We have a team dedicated to handle your practice migration, as well as a documented guide to ensure nothing slips through the cracks.

What does Practice Success mean exactly?

We have an in-house dedicated team to ensure your practice is as successful as possible. They are there to support the way you want to work, whether you want to have a busy schedule or are looking to achieve a better work-life balance. The team also keeps an eye on cancellations and empty appointment slots in order to book them for you.

What type of EMR do you use?

Our clinics are integrated with a leading EMR provider that offers centralized electronic note taking.

What kind of staff support is available?

Licensed practical nurses support our doctors, and there is an optimal nurse to doctor ratio. A clinical nurse is present at all times and acts as “shift supervisor”, responding to any issue that may arise.

Can I access my files from home?

Our clinics are integrated with a leading EMR provider that offers centralized electronic note taking.

How does lab follow-up occur in the event of a doctor's absence?

We monitor all lab follow-ups internally so that nothing falls through the cracks.

Do you have a service corridor?

Yes, we have two service corridors established, notably with Sainte-Justine hospital.

Do you supply scrubs and PPE gear?

Yes, we supply Figs scrubs and proper PPE gear to all practitioners and staff in our clinics.

What is Lotus OS?

Lotus OS is an in-clinic operating system that we developed to optimize space, workflows and communications. Every exam room is equipped with a tablet which serves as communication between the doctor and the support team. The system also provides a bird's eye view of the clinic, showing the location of each patient, as well as their status or where doctors or nurses are needed.

Do you use a note taking tool?

Yes, the Text Blaze app is used in our clinics.
